Ingredients For Oats Carrot Kozhukattai

  • Oats – 1 cup
  • Grated carrot -1/2 cup
  • grated ginger -1 teaspoon
  • asafoetida – 1 pinch
  • Ghee – 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon
  • salt – to taste

 

Method to prepare Oats Carrot Kozhukattai

  1. Take a heavy bottom pan and dry roast 1 cup of oats in low flame for 5-7 minutes.
  2. Allow the roasted oats to cool down and grind it into a fine powder.
  3. Take a mixing bowl, add oats powder, grated carrot, grated ginger, asafoetida, coriander leaves, ghee, and salt. Add water and make a tough dough.
  4. make equal size of small balls of this oats dough.
  5. Take an idli pot and grease the plate with ghee and steam cook the oats ball for 5-7 minutes in medium flame.
  6. Serve the piping hot Oats Carrot Kozhukattai with peanut chutney.

 

Tips

  1. While making the Kozhukattai grease the palm with ghee and make small balls.
  2. Prick with a toothpick to check whether the Kozhukattai is cooked or not. The toothpick should come clean.
  3. You can replace carrots and add vegetables of your choice.
