Whole Wheat Paniyaram – Kids Snacks Box Recipes
Ingredients to Prepare Whole Wheat Paniyaram
- Whole wheat flour – 1 cup
- Onion – 1 medium size finely chopped
- Ginger – 1/4 inch grated
- Coriander leaves – Handful of finely chopped
- Pepper powder – 1 tablespoon
- Jeera powder – 2 spoons
- Mustard seeds – 1 spoon
- Asafoetida- 1 pinch
- Curd – 2 tablespoons
- Gingelly Oil – 2 tablespoons
- Salt – to taste
Method To Prepare Whole Wheat Paniyaram
1. Take a pan, add oil and mustard seeds. Allow it to splutter.
2. Add the onion, asafoetida, and ginger, give it a quick stir, the onions should turn transparent.
3. Add the required amount and salt and turn off the flame. The tempering is ready.
4. Take a medium-sized bowl, add the whole wheat flour, curd, and tempering. Now add pepper powder and jeera powder to it. Check the salt, add if needed.
5. Add the coriander leaves and mix everything well and allow it to rest for 2- 3 minutes.
6. Turn on the flame, allow the appe pan to heat and grease each mold well with gingelly oil.
7. Fill the 3/4 of the molds with the whole wheat panirayam mix and cook for 2 minutes in medium flame.
8. Flip the sides and cook the other side for another 1 -2 minutes.
9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 for the rest of the batter. You have to cook the whole wheat paniyaram until both sides turn golden in color.
10. Serve the yummy whole wheat paniyaram with ridge gourd skin chutney.
Tips
1. You can replace the gingelly oil with regular cooking oil. Gingelly oil gives a wonderful flavor to the cooked paniyaram.
2. You can replace curd with ¼ cup of dosa batter. It makes the paniyaram soft and a bit sour.
