Ingredients to Prepare Beetroot Paniyaram
- Dosa batter – 1 cup
- Beetroot Juice – 1/4 cup
- Onion – 1 medium size finely chopped
- Ginger – 1/4 inch grated
- Curry leaves – Handful
- Pepper powder – 1 tablespoon
- Jeera powder – 2 spoons
- Mustard seeds – 1 spoon
- Asafoetida- 1 pinch
- Gingelly Oil – 2 tablespoons
- Salt – to taste
Method To Beetroot Wheat Paniyaram
- Take a pan, add oil and mustard seeds. Allow it to splutter.
- Add the onion, asafoetida, and ginger, curry leaves give it a quick stir, the onions should turn transparent.
- Add the required amount and salt and turn off the flame. The tempering is ready.
- Prepare the beetroot juice by grinning beetroot with 2 tablespoon of water.
- Take a medium-sized bowl, add the dosa batter, beetroot juice, and tempering. Now add pepper powder and jeera powder to it. Check the salt, add if needed.
- Mix everything well and allow it to rest for 2- 3 minutes.
- Turn on the flame, allow the appe pan to heat and grease each mold well with gingelly oil.
- Fill the 3/4 of the molds with the beetroot panirayam mix and cook for 2 minutes in medium flame.
- Flip the sides and cook the other side for another 1 -2 minutes.
- Repeat steps 7 and 8 for the rest of the batter. You have to cook the beetroot paniyaram until both sides turn pinkish golden in color.
- Serve the yummy beetroot paniyaram with ridge gourd skin chutney.
Tips
- You can replace the gingelly oil with regular cooking oil. Gingelly oil gives a wonderful flavor to the cooked paniyaram.
