Chili Cheese Toast – Easy Toddler Snack Recipe

Chili Cheese Toast is a classic recipe which my little one loves. The recipe is super simple, you can prepare this in just 7-10 minutes, Chili Cheese Toast makes yummy snack box option for kids. Since I am preparing it for my little one, I completed avoided the hot green chilies, I replaced them with green capsicum. The Chili Cheese Toast can be made on hot tawa, it tastes yummy and crunchy.

Chili Cheese Toast – Crunchy Snacks For Kids

Ingredients

  • Whole Wheat Bread – 4 nos
  • Green capsicum – 1/2 cup (Finely chopped)
  • Grated Cheese – 1/2 cup
  • Salted Butter – 2 -3 cubes at room temperature
  • Oregano – 2 spoons
  • Black Pepper – 1 spoon
  • Salt -1 pinch (optional)

Method To Prepare

1. Take a slice of whole wheat bread, apply salted butter evenly on it with the help of spatula.
2. Add finely chopped green capsicum over the buttered bread slice, sprinkle oregano and pepper powder.
3. Finally, spread the grated cheese evenly on the capsicum loaded bread slice.
4. Take a hot pan, add butter and grill the bread slice for 5-7 minutes in low flame until the bread slice turns golden and crisp. Do not flip the Chili Cheese Toast.
5. Repeat the same for the rest of the bread slices.
6. Serve the hot Chili Cheese Toast with tomato ketchup.

Tips

1. The choice of cheese can be yours like mozzarella, cheddar or regular cheese. I prefer regular cheese.
2. You can also use regular bread, to prepare the Chili Cheese Toast.
3. If your little one is okay with the hotness of the green chili, add combination of green capsicum and green chili.
4. You can chop off the edges of bread slice if you are not a big fan of them.
5. I prefer to skip the salt because the butter and cheese have enough salt already.
