In this recipe, I have used green moong dal, which is rich in Vitamin A, B, C E, minerals, calcium, potassium. The best part is, it also promotes the digestive health of your child and promote healthy weight gain. Moong dal is super filling and is extremely light on the tummy. Ingredients to Prepare Moong Dal Chilla with Paneer Stuffing
For the Moong Dal Chilla Batter
- Soaked Green Moong Dal – 1 Cup (Soak for 5-7 hours or overnight)
- Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
- Ginger – 2 inches
- Green Chilli – 1 -2
- Salt – To Taste
For the Paneer Stuffing
- Paneer Small Cubes – 2 cup
- Onion Small Cubes – 1/2 cup
- Bell Pepper Cubes – 1 cup (Mix of a green, red, and yellow bell pepper)
- Carrots Cubes – ½ cup
- Tomato – 1 nos roughly chopped
- Meat masala /garam masala – 1 spoon
- Pepper powder – 1 spoon
- Red chili powder – ½ spoon
- Cumin seeds powder – 2 spoon
- Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon
- Chaat masala – 1 teaspoon
- Butter – 2 cubes
- Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon
- Salt – To Taste
Method To Prepare Moong Dal Chilla Batter
- Take the medium-sized mixing jar, add soaked green moong dal, cumin seeds, ginger, green chili, and salt.
- Grind everything into a fine paste. Make sure the batter should have a similar consistency like the dosa batter.
- The moong dal chilla batter is ready to use, it doesn’t need any fermentation.
Method to Prepare Paneer Stuffing
- Take a pan, allow the butter to heat up a little, add onion, tomato and allow it to cook for 1-2 minutes on medium flame. Make sure the tomato is mushy
- Add bell pepper, paneer, and all the dry masala. Mix everything until the raw smell goes off. Finally, add salt to taste. This step will take 5-6 minutes.
- Turn off the flame and add finely chopped coriander leaves.
Method to Prepare Moong Dal Chilla with Paneer Stuffing
- Heat dosa Tawa, grease well with oil. Pour 1 ladle full of moong dal chilla batter on the centre and gently spread the batter into circular motion so that you get a thin dosa. Keep the flame low.
- Spread the paneer stuffing on the half-cooked moong dal chilla, drizzle butter/ghee on the sides, and close the chilla with a lid. Allow the chilla to cook on a medium flame for 1-2 minutes.
- Once cooked, gentle roll the chilla and cut it into small rolls.
- The Moong Dal Chilla with Paneer Stuffing is ready.
Tips
- You can also add grated cheese to the moong dal chilla to make it yummy.
- You can increase or decrease the number of veggies as per your choice.
- You can replace green moong dal with yellow moong dal .
